National Museums Scotland | The Lewis Chessmen Unmasked
One of Scotland's most important archaeological finds, the hoard of chessmen was found on the Isle of Lewis in 1831. It is believed the chessmen date back to the 12th century. Based on new research, the authors offer insights into the hoards origins and discovery.
This hardcover book was written in 2011 to coincide with a traveling exposition of the chessmen.
